Hope Downs 4 for Rio Tinto / KBR

The Hope Downs 4 for Rio Tinto / KB project that commenced this year involved the build of ten transportable substations that encompassed the manufacture and installation of numerous 415 V MCCs, 6.6 KV Switchgear, Field Terminal Boxes, Distribution Boards. Nilsen engaged and managed subcontractors for the HVAC, Fire Protection, Communications, Access Security and the build of the transportable Buildings. The project later necessitated Nilsen to accelerate production that saw the completion and delivery to site, of the ten buildings, take place between October 2013 and February 2014. The remote location of the project site represented special logistics challenges for transportation and site attendance by Nilsen personnel to assist the commissioning teams and for supply of additional equipment.
