Fibre Optical
Nilsen has extensive experience in fibre-optical communication. Services cover industrial, data and communication application areas in multi-mode and single-mode, and in many topologies including token ring, local talk, etc. Nilsen’s engineering skills cover areas such as splicing, coupling, optical to electronic, and electronic to optical converters. A complete suite of installation, commissioning and testing rounds out the scope of services.

General Motors Holden Headquarters – Communication Services

The impetus behind the construction of Holden’s new headquarters was to have a custom built facility that could house the management of all Holden’s brands under the one roof. The aim was to consolidate their business resources and co-ordinate the many brands and services under the Holden umbrella from one central place of business. At the same time, they wanted to upgrade their data and communication facilities to not only take advantage of the latest technology currently available but to be able to access new technologies in the future.
Nilsen were contracted to supply, install, test, commission, maintain and warrant the data and communication services for the new building. The extent of Nilsen’s work on this project included:
