Your DC Data Centre is a state of the art facility based at Edinburgh Parks Adelaide. The project commenced in November 2015 and was completed in March 2016.

Nilsen were responsible for the supply and installation of the main switch gear, cable reticulation and distribution boards to the proto type data pods. This included for 2 number metering cubicles on the boundary of the property which were fed directly from the SA Power Networks 11kV/415v transformers.

Each metering cubicle then feeds a separate string of main switchboard, UPS, UPS output switchboard, pod distribution boards and mechanical air conditioning equipment. This string of switchgear is backed up by a stand-by generator. Each UPS string/switchgear is located in its own individual air conditioned switchroom with a fire suppression system.

Each switchboard and distribution board was designed, manufactured, factory tested and commissioned by Nilsen Switchboards located in Adelaide.

Due to the extremely short installation period allowed for the completion of site works, Nilsen pre-fabricated all of the structural support steel work for each switchroom. The pre-fabricated steel work was erected prior to the switchrooms being constructed which allowed for the earlier installation of the comprehensive ladder racking system required for the extensive mains and submains cabling. The Switchroom walls and ceilings were then installed after the ladder racking and cabling had been laid by Nilsen. Without this pre-fabrication and up front installation, the contract program would not have been achieved.

Nilsen project management were an integral part of the Your DC site management team and were pro-active in assisting with the co-ordination and integration of the electrical services with the other main construction trades.
