The 6.5km twin tunnels will complete the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network, connecting the M80 Ring Road and the Eastern Freeway.
As part of our scope, Nilsen will deliver the Electrical Fit-Out Works for the TBM tunnels, including the Northern Portal at Watsonia, Lower Plenty on- and off-ramps, and sections of the Manningham cut-and-cover.
The works include the installation of essential electrical and ITS systems to ensure safe and reliable tunnel operations, including power, lighting, communications, control systems and associated service rooms. This package will help support traffic management, ventilation, fire safety, emergency response and long-term operational performance of the tunnels.
