Phase 1 of the Rockingham Hospital redevelopment posed a number of unique challenges for the Nilsen team.
Disconnection & removal of the existing Western Power HV supply and 2 x 500kVa transformers involved a 14hour shutdown leaving the entire hospital running on a sole backup generator, while 2 x new 1MVa transformers and new HV supply were installed into Substation No. 1.
Disconnection and removal of the existing MSB1 and the rerouting of all existing imperial MIMS submains to a new MSB1 also incorporated its own set of difficulties.
Both major shutdowns were completed ahead of schedule with the disruption of the working hospital kept to a minimum.
