Nilsen were engaged by Energy Power systems to provide our HV and LV expertise in design, installation and commissioning of the 1.24Mw ground mount Solar System at NAWMA Solar Farm.

This site contains a combined solar and methane power plant, believed to be an Australian first during construction. The plant, comprising a solar farm covering 5,000 square meters, will produce around 200 MWh of electricity each year, feeding electricity into the South Australian grid. Combining solar with an environmentally sustainable waste management solution will ensure South Australia’s further progress on its renewable energy goals.

Nilsen designed and commissioned the facility to ensure maximum output was always maintained. Nilsen continually seek to delivery innovation to the industry. We seek ways of improving our customer’s electrical infrastructure to maximise flexibility and reliability. We strive to develop partnerships with our customers to ensure reliability, sustainability and performance of their energy systems. Despite the installation program of three months being extremely tight, we ensured the system was online and exporting for the customer on the planned date.

Nilsen were also awarded the 2018 National Electrical and Communication Association (NECA) South Australia Best Industrial Small Project Award for the NAWMA Solar Farm project.
