The Interactive Data Centre is adjacent to the current Interactive Port Park facility.

The new building contains a number of elements including: Data Centre, Office areas, Design Studio and Warehousing. The building is to be the company’s flagship Australian facility and a high quality finish is to be achieved.

This state of the art four level building includes, CISCO telepresence room, 90 seat auditorium, AV room, staff cafe, commercial quality kitchen, executive management offices and board room.

The Interactive Data Centre is a mission critical facility designed to operate continuously 24 hours a day. Tier 3 principles have been adopted in the mechanical and electrical systems for the Data Centre. The new Data Centre Hall will contain 300m² of data hall white space designed for an average IT load of 6kW per IT rack, there will be 114 IT racks located within the Data Centre Hall.

• New Citipower 2,000kVA substation.
• Metering facilities, Main Switchboards and distribution boards.
• General power and UPS distribution boards
• HV, LV and associated control cabling
• Emergency standby generators and parallel control system
• Static 800kVA UPS system
• Provision for Power factor correction & harmonic current monitoring
• DALI Lighting control system.
• General and Emergency lighting
• Consolidated Structured Cabling System (SCS) including equipment rack, fibre optic cabling, Category 6a UTP horizontal cabling.
• Security system complete with Concept 4000 access control system

The project document was designed to 90% by the consultant Aecom. Nilsen worked closely in the generators control system and LV distribution to finalise the documentation to 100% prior to construction. This will reduce any cost impact through the construction and commissioning phase.
