The Correctional Centre provides accommodation for male and female prisoners in a range of classifications from Low to Maximum security. It includes health, education, rehabilitation programs, industries, recreation and horticultural facilities for prisoners, and administration with visitor and gate house functions.
Ancillary structures include a staff development and training building, drug dog detection unit, laundry, stores and central kitchen.
A complete C-Bus lighting control system was designed for installation for the new Northern Territory Secure Facilities Project. The NTSF consists of multiple buildings running as standalone C-Bus networks. Each building with C-Bus control consists of a combination of touch screens & multiple gang press button switches for ease of operation.
Cell blocks have a touchscreen located at the officers post for cell light & power isolation. All prisoner holding cells can be electrically isolated from the local officer post. Each cell has the ability for GPO’s & lighting to be separately isolated if required. Lighting isolation will turn off the 240V lighting feed to each respective cell, disabling the local switch, with the exception of the night light. Power isolation will also disable all GPO’s within the cell. Upon power isolation no appliance can be utilised within the cell confinements. Touchscreens have restricted access with password protected accounts.
Officer post and meeting rooms contain light fittings which are all individually addressable (DALI), meaning any switch group function can be re-configured without the need to re-wire, in the case that office layouts alter overtime. Multiple scenes and integration with the audio-visual system have also been utilised throughout.
